Beginner volley control drill

A simple padel volley drill for improving preparation, contact height, and recovery at the net.

Padel racket and balls on a court
Run the drill, record a clip, and review the result.

This drill helps players develop calmer volleys and better recovery at the net.

Setup

One player starts at the net. A partner or coach feeds medium-paced balls to the forehand and backhand volley.

How to run it

  • Hit controlled volleys cross-court
  • Recover to ready position after every shot
  • Keep the racket prepared before the feed
  • Work for 60 to 90 seconds, then rest

Focus points

Do not chase power. The goal is repeatable contact, stable balance, and quick recovery.

How to use Padel Coach App

Record one round from behind the court and upload it for AI video analysis. Look for feedback on preparation, footwork, and whether your recovery is fast enough before the next ball.
